A message from our Principal Audiologist...

"My clients know that mediocre is not me. If you're going to do something, do it well. This is Fernandez Hearing. We care about every single client and understand that every client's hearing needs are unique - this is why we listen and provide considered, individual recommendations to improve your hearing.

My mission is to ensure that every client I see, leaves with better hearing. Audiology is not simply a 'job' for me, it's a purpose. It brings me joy to be able to help people hear well, to witness their lives improve and their relationships flourish. Improving hearing, communication and quality of life has been my mission for more than 20 years.

My journey in to the field of Audiology began when I engaged in volunteer work at Better Hearing Australia whilst studying my Bachelor of Science (HCS) at Curtin University. As a volunteer, I provided Aural Rehabilitation classes to hearing impaired members. I was elected Board Member, developed and implemented a variety of training programs, advocated for hearing impaired and gained grants for research and resources for Better Hearing Australia WA, its members and the greater community.

I went on to complete my Masters of Speech Language Pathology through the University of Sydney and then specialised in Audiology, completing my Masters of Clinical Audiology at the University of Western Australia. During my Audiology studies, I received the UWA Research Award for my research project 'The Pardoners and Partners Program', an aural reahabilitation program, as well as the Widex academic award. Before graduating, I was offered a position at Australian Hearing. I then decided to travel to Spain whereby I worked as an Audiologist at Amplifon. During my time in Spain I presented at the XXV International Congress for Speech & Hearing in Granada. I returned home to Perth to an Audiology position at Lions Hearing Clinic. Soon after, in 2007  I founded my own private Speech and Hearing practice. Whilst operating my private practice, I also provided clinical supervision to UWA Audiology students and was a lecturer for the UWA Audiology course for Speech & Hearing and Aural Rehabilitation units.

Meanwhile my practice continued to expand with locations north and south of the river. After 10 years of successful and rewarding practice, I went on maternity leave for 12 months. Thereafter I continued to practice part time. Passionate about improving people’s hearing and communication, and with 20 years of experience, I recommenced full practice and am proud to share Fernandez Hearing with you. An unrivalled hearing clinic, providing Audiology and Speech Pathology services, that does not disappoint. Experience what sets us apart from the rest. Call us today
